It may not be spring yet but I truly believe that if I bake enough spring-like foods maybe, just maybe, I can coax Mother Nature along a bit.

Are you sick of turkey yet? Our family has “the big turkey dinner” on New Year’s Day, rather than Christmas Day, so we’re still in the throes of turkey dinnerdom.
I may be a very long way from home, but lucky for me I have a very special family here in Australia. My best friend Natalie and her partner Scott, along with their three little kiddies, have taken me in and made me a part of their busy, non-stop-fun-times clan.

I have finally decided (practically kicking and screaming) to self-host my blog.
It’s time to retrain my taste buds away from sweet. I’ve realized it’s all that I taste most of the time.
I like chocolate, I like cake, milk (it’s sweet!) and pasta and fruit and bread and…all the foods I eat these days fall into the sweet category.

Like the final weeks of summer, the end of my Summer Salad Series, a salad a day for the entire month of July, is a bittersweet time. There is still a whole week left to enjoy fresh produce and explore new flavour combinations, and yet, with the end near, I begin thinking ahead to the future.
