12 Days of Christmas: Eggnog Fizz

Updated December 2023

Welcome to day two of the 12 Days of Christmas! We’re making the Eggnog Fizz!

The Eggnog Fizz is like an ice cream float (remember those?) fancied up for the holidays. It’s made with eggnog ice cream, bubbles (champagne, sparkling wine, prosecco) or ginger ale, and any toppings you’d like. Here I used whipped cream and maraschino cherries. So festive!

How to make an Eggnog Fizz

  • Grab some festive glasses for serving. I used champagne coupes here.
  • To each glass, add a scoop or two of ice cream, a dollop of whipped cream, and a sweet, garish cherry for a pop of colour.
  • Finally, carefully pour in your bubbles of choice along the inside of the glass, so not to disturb the whipped cream. It will expand quickly in the glass so be careful not to overfill.
  • Enjoy!

Wow the crowd

If you’re serving the eggnog fizz at a party or with a group of friends, you can scoop the ice cream into everyone’s glass ahead of time, provide the toppings for everyone to add themselves (or you can do this part for them) and then go around and pour bubbles into each glass as your guests watch on in delight.

You may want to offer up mini straws too so you can get all the last bits of goodness out of the glass. Slurping is encouraged.

I love having a drink that is fluffy, sparkly and sweet to serve at a holiday party, for a post-Santa Claus parade treat or hey, why not pull this out on New Year’s Eve? Sprinkle on some popping candy or cotton candy, light your sparklers and start counting down to the new year in style.

And remember, adults love popping candy as much as the kiddies do! So don’t be shy about the fun little details.

Eggnog not your thing?

Try mint chocolate chip ice cream and peppermint candies, or salted caramel ice cream and Baileys. The options are endless. Now get fizzing!

Are you looking for the perfect holiday treat for a cookie swap or festive party? Try these Toblerone Shortbread cookies or these Magic Cookie Bars. You won’t be sorry.

See you back here tomorrow for day three of 12 Days of Christmas!
