It’s The Most Wonderful Time Of The Year

I have just one word for you: Panettone.

Yes that’s right. The best part of the Christmas season: soft, sweet, layered, fragrant…I still can’t find the right words to appropriately describe the velvety loveliness that is the panettone.

I could almost set my calendar to the arrival of this decadent treat that only shows its welcoming face at Christmastime. Suddenly I have an even better excuse to linger over a cup of tea.  And it’s only ever around long enough for me to get really hooked again, just long enough for panettone to become a new habit before they’re gone again for the better part of a year.  My taste buds will cry out for more.  My hips will sooth them by reminding them of the real price of this Italian pleasure. On a cold day in January, after Santa has returned to the North Pole and the decorations are all packed up, these pictures will serve as a dreamy reminder of this moment. Feast your eyes. It will be over before you know it.

  • Perfectly paired with espresso or coffee. Don’t you wish you studied culinary arts in highschool? I sure do.
